ProWein Dusseldorf’s size and industry reach has ranked it as arguably the most important trade show in the world of wines and spirits. On 12th October 2016, Messe Dusseldorf (China) Co., Ltd hosted

A Glimpse of ProWein World’ presentation and wine-tasting event at Renaissance Harbourview in Hong Kong to offer insight on the successful expansion of the ProWein World tradeshow family and an afternoon of palatable fun.

Firsthand ProWein experiences and feedback were openly shared by a room-full of wine and spirits professionals, including an opening speech by Eddie McDougall, host of The Flying Winemaker and award winning wine-maker, describing the international trade show as a mammoth, pivotal, and forward-thinking industry platform.

Further excitement built around the successful debut of ProWine Asia in Singapore months earlier and next year’s ProWine Asia coming to Hong Kong in 2017.
Hors d'oeuvres and Wines, Expertly Paired

The afternoon tasting event exclusively featured wines produced by ProWein exhibitors expertly paired with delicious finger-foods by the knowledgeable team from The Flying Winemaker – Hong Kong’s renowned wine producers.

Guests were invited to participate in a blind-tasting competition arranged by The Flying Winemaker team. Contestants were quizzed on specific characteristics of the 12 ‘blind bottles’ produced by ProWein exhibitors, such as Old World vs. New World lineage, vintages, and wine-regions of origin.

The winner, Simon McCarthy from Cuvées, a Hong Kong based online retailer for wines, sake and spirits, took home the prize of 3 featured bottles of wine.
A Toast to Continued Success

‘A Glimpse of ProWein World’ concluded successfully as much enthusiasm was built amongst guests by trade show updates, results, and a thrilling outlook towards the future of ProWein World’s expansion into Hong Kong and Singapore.
